About three hundred new books, including many recent publica- tions, and some standard works, have been added to the Library; these have been placed in front of the desk, a privilege evidently ap- preciated. Encyclopedias and other reference books are to be found on the open shelves in the Reading room where they can be readily consulted. The paper covers have been removed from all of the books, and it is expected that our reading public will take pride in carefully preserving the attractive appearance of the books.
