TOWN MEETING WARRANT.
Middleton ss. To Oscar Cram, Constable for the Town of Middleton, in the County of Essex.
GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachu- setts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Middleton qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall in said Town, on
Monday, the Seventh day of March, next.
at six o'clock A. M., for the following purposes, viz:
To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting and all other meetings to be held under this warrant.
To choose by ballot the following town officers for the ensuing year, viz: Town Clerk, three Selectmen, three Assessors, one Overseer of the Poor for three years, one School Committee for three years, High- way Surveyor for one year, two trustees of Flint Public Library, for three years, Constable for one

year, Treasurer, Tax Collector, Auditor, three Fence Viewers, Tree Warden, Superintendent of Burials, and Janitor for Town Hall.
Also on the same ballot to give in their votes, "Yes" or "No" in answer to the following question : Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town?
The Polls will be opened at six o'clock A. M. and closed at four o'clock P. M.
You are hereby required to notify and warn said qualified inhabitants to meet subsequently, at the Town Hall on Wednesday, March 9, 1904 at 7.30 o'clock P. M. for the following purposes, viz:
ART. 1. To choose such other town officers as are required to be chosen in the months of February, March or April, annually.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will accept the report of the Finance committee's recommendations for appropriations to pay expenses of the Town the ensuing year, or take any action thereon.
ART. 3. To see if the Town will concur with the Board of Harbor and Land Commissioners in the proposed changes in the boundary lines between the towns of Middleton and North Andover and Mid- dleton and Boxford, as recommended by said Board, or to take any other action thereon.
ART. 4. To see if the town will widen and improve Lake Street near A. W. Peabody's residence

and appropriate a sum of money for the same, on condition that said A. W. Peabody will make ad- ditional improvements at his own expense. Also to make some improvements at a point opposite A. P. Tyler's residence, and at a point near D. W. Case Windmill.
The finance committee recommend the sum of $350 for the above improvements on said Lake Street.
ART 5. To see if the Town will have cut on the town lot what wood will be necessary for the ensu- ing year and hauled to the lockup to be sawed and split by persons applying for a night's lodging.
ART. 6. To see what action the Town will take in regard to discount and interest on taxes.
ART. 7. To act on the list of Jurors prepared and posted by the selectmen.
ART. 8. To see what action the Town will take in regard to letting the Town Hall.
ART. 9. To see what action the Town will take concerning the cemetery.
ART. 10. To see what measures the town will adopt for the removal of snow from the sidewalks.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will authorize its treasurer to bring suit in the name of the Town to recover any moneys now due or which may be due for the ensuing year, or take any action thereon.
ART. 12. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer, under the directions of the Selectmen, to

hire such sums of money as may be necessary to meet current expenses in anticipation of taxes of the pres- ent year and payable therefrom.
ART. 13. To see if the Town will authorize the collector to use all means of collecting the taxes which Town Treasurer when appointed may use.
ART. 14. To see what action the Town will take in regard to observing Old Home week or a part of the same in accordance with an act passed and ap- proved in the Legislature, February 25, 1902.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will authorize the Treasurer to hire money, as may be necessary to meet current expenses.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, one at the Town Hall and one at Centre Post Office and one at the Post Office in South Middleton in said Town seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting. Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, at the time and place of said meeting aforesaid.
