Report of the School Committee
To the Voters of the Town of Middleton:
Middleton, Mass., February 10, 1915.
The School Committee is pleased to be able to report that the Middleton Schools are in the same good condition as they have been in for some years. The same high standard is being steadily maintained and Superintendent and Teachers are work- ing harmoniously and effectively with this end constantly in view.
A table showing the enrollment and attendance, statistics and other information will be found in the report of the Super- intendent which is submitted herewith.
Superintendent
Mr. Harvey R. Williams, the district Superintendent, con- tinues to give the same painstaking and efficient effort which has always marked him as a valuable officer and has contributed in large measure to the high standard of our schools.
Teachers®
Early in 1914, Miss Richardson having retired from the position of teacher of the third and fourth grades, Miss Frances C. Hinckley of Beverly, was chosen to fill the vacancy and has given most satisfactory work.
A new supervisor of drawing, Miss Paula L. Clough, was chosen at the opening of the school year in September, 1914 in place of Miss Beatrice Randall who resigned to accept a posi- tion at the State Normal School in Salem. The new drawing supervisor seems to be fully equal to her task and the commit- tee feel that they were fortunate in their choice.

SCHOOL REPORT
Miss B. Gertrude Hayward was chosen sewing teacher in the Fall of 1914 and has given great satisfaction. She is a Middleton woman and her good work must be a source of grati- fication to her fellow town's people.
Miss Manning, as Principal and teacher of the seventh and eighth grades, Miss Knight, teacher of the fifth and sixth grades, Miss Henderson, teacher of the first and second grade and Mrs. Kimball, teacher of music, have all continued to serve in their respective capacities to the satisfaction of the Com- mittee and the benefit of the school.
School Savings Bank
In January 1915, pursuant to a vote of the Committee, a School Savings Bank was started in the school. This is a thing which is more or less common in the schools of cities and large towns and is considered a most desirable adjunct of the shcools.
