The undersigned, Auditors for the year ending February 1, 1863, most respectfully submit the foregoing pages as their Report of Receipts and Expenditures for the year. We have examined the accounts of the Board of Selectmen, and find them correct; also the aecounts of the Town Treasurer, which we find correctly kept and properly vouehed. It will be seen by the Reports that the expenditures for teaching is in exeess of the expenditures of 1861, by $ 910.18, and exceeds the ap- propriations by $ 176.62. The incidental expenses of schooling is, with the ordinary expenses of last year, about the same.
The Almshouse Department, under the control of the Overseers of the Poor, but managed by its present able Superintendent, Mr. Charles Spear, is in good condition, and we feel constrained to say of the Ma- tron, Mrs. Spear, that she has our commendation for her careful and economizing management of her household duties, which are at times peculiarly trying and vexatious.
