The appropriations for 1905 were: General appropria- tion, $3,500; supplies and incidentals, $400; repairs, $500; a total of $4,400. We recommend $4,400 for the present year, but ask that it be made in one appropriation, "For the support of schools." It will make the accounts of the com- mittee and treasurer much simpler. Also it frequently happens that some account has to be overdrawn, while oth- ers have a surplus. In such a case money has to be drawn from the treasury that does not belong to the schools, while there is more than sufficient appropriated to pay all school expenses.

PUBLIC LIBRARY.

REPORT OF TRUSTEES PUBLIC LIBRARY.

Citizens of Carver :-

It will be seen by a reference to the Selectmen's report that we have a large balance in our account. Our books were purchased so late that the bills do not appear in this year's account. We estimate $100 outstanding bills. At present we have five branch libraries-North, South, East, West and Bates Pond.

The time is near when we shall be obliged to have more room for our books. Our present quarters are not equal to our needs. We have ncreased the pay of our librarian as her labors increased.

The present year we bought quite largely of damaged books from a fire sale, and consequently got many more books for our money.

Herewith find our fines account, the librarian's report. catalogue of such books as have been added during the year.
