REPORT OF THE LOCAL MOTH SUPERINTENDENT.
In 1916 I think there was less serious damage done than in 1915. While many of the bogs were slightly infested in 1916 with the help of four small spraying machines, in addition to the two we had, we were able to keep the bogs well protected.
And with the cutting and burning this winter it seems as if we might expect less trouble next summer.
The State was very liberal with us in regard to funds to carry on this work and seems to be willing to help us this year.
The work the past year has been mostly to protect the cran- berry bogs and great credit should be given the committee appointed by the Cranberry Growers' Association for their help in securing funds from the State to carry on the bog work.
HERBERT F. ATWOOD, Local Supt.
We recommend that the town secure the best arsenate of lead that can be obtained.
Signed, J. MYRICK BUMP, SETH C. C. FINNEY, Gypsy Moth Committee.
