REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
To the School Committee of Carver :
I herewith submit my first annual report as Superin- tendent of Schools.
The High and Grammar schools opened on September 10th, this being an earlier date for the seventh and eighth grades than has been customary. It would seem feasible an- other year to open all the schools at this time, as the number of children employed this season was negligible and in case of breaks caused by epidemic conditions, or bad weather, this would obviate keeping late in June.
Mr. McLeod and Miss Spoul resigned to go to West Bridgewater. After much consideration Mr. Herman A. Richter, of Randolph, and Miss Marjorie K. Love, of Brock- ton, were selected to fill the positions and their work has been highly satisfactory. The spirit of the school has continued to be excellent and the pupils are showing an increasing interest in their work.
The vacancy of the North Carver School due to the resig- nation of Miss Sampson was filled by the election of Miss Blanche Savary, of Wreham. The crowded condition of this school made it necessary to open a third room. This was ac- complished by fitting up the back part as a class room and the Bates Pond School was closed and Miss Cornish transferred to North Carver.
