Report of Annual Town Meeting, Monday, February 7, 1916.


Article 1. On motion, voted that Charles T. Chase cast one ballot for John H. Paine for Moderator, and he was declared elected and duly sworn.


Motion by Charles E. Hamer that committee of seven be appointed by Chair, whose duty shall be to report to the town its best judgment as to what sum shall be spent this year on construction of oil roads and where the amount shall be expended, the committee to serve without pay. Voted. Committee appointed : Joseph N. Atkins, W. Sears Nicker- son, William P. Barnes, James C. Baker, Ebenezer Weekes, Alonzo Nickerson, Clarkson P. Bearse.


Article 2. Voted, to pay Tax Collector 2%.


Article 3. The following tellers were duly sworn : Ralph Gorham, S. Arthur Cahoon, Lester N. Ellis, Roy K. Hamer, Lawrence B. Robbins, Chas. F. Hall, Jr., and Con- stable Laban Snow in charge of ballot box, and voting com- menced at 9:00 o'clock a. m.


Motion Alton P. Goss, voted that when meeting adjourn it do so to 9:00 o'clock Tuesday morning.


The polls were closed at 2:00 o'clock p. m. and the . check lists, ballot box count and the ballots cast were found to agree, and the total number of votes was 472.
