Because of inability to get cinders the special appropria- tions for repairs on certain streets have not been expended. It was thought best to ask for these special appropriations the coming year, when materials will be cheaper and easier to obtain.

THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
OFFICE OF THE STATE FORESTER
STATE HOUSE, BOSTON
Frank Wm. Rane, B. Agr., M. Sc. State Forester
The Cranberry Growers Committee on Moth Work, after having inspected the cranberry bogs very carefully, have found them badly infested with gypsy moths.
Some bogs are practically ruined at the present time, with the prospect that a great deal more damage is sure to occur in the next year, and for some time to come.
Considering the great danger to the cranberry industry, we earnestly advise, and would ask all towns, that they procure adequate spraying equipment for the protection of the Growers.
And we would further advise cranberry growers, that they keep in close touch with their local moth superin- tendent for further advice or assistance.
