ART. 44. To learn the opinion of the Town as to certain matters now before the Joint Board at the recommendation of the Planning Board, relative to the establishment of building lines on Massa- chusetts Avenue.


ART. 45. To see if the Town will vote to make an appropria- tion for the establishment of a public sanitary, or take any action thereon.


ART. 46. To see if the Town will vote to grant the employees of the Highway, Sewer, Water and Health Departments a Satur- day half-holiday without loss of pay, for six months beginning May 1 and ending October 31, inclusive, or take any action thereon.

ART. 47. To see if the Town will vote to appoint or elect a Finance Committee, consisting of twenty-one citizens of the Town, to which Committee shall be referred all articles in any Warrant calling a Town Meeting. Said Committee to report on all said articles, either in print or otherwise, to the Town, with such recom- mendations as it shall deem best, stating in said report, where deductions are made in the recommendations of Boards and officials which items in such recommendations are so deducted, the amount and the reasons for such deductions.


ART. 48. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the Superior Court for the appointment

of a special commission for the elimination of the grade crossing at Mill Street.


ART. 49. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for necessary repairs on the Almshouse property, so-called, on Sum- mer Street, or take any action relative to the repair or disposal of this building.


ART. 50. To see if the Town will vote to dispose of by sale or otherwise, the property now owned by the Town and known as the "Town Crusher Lot," or take any action relative thereto.


ART. 51. To see if the Town will vote to dispose of by sale or otherwise, the property now owned by the Town and known as the "Mystic Street Gravel Pit," or take any action relative thereto.


ART. 52. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase or otherwise, a certain parcel of land off Mill Street, said land to be used for a Town Yard, make an appropriation therefor, or take any action thereon.


ART. 53. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the removal of snow and ice from the highways, or take any action thereon.


ART. 54. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the engineering work of the Town, said appropriation to include the salary of the Town Engineer, or take any action thereon.


ART. 55. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the extension of storm drains, or take any action thereon.


ART. 56. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the construction of Summer Street Extension, or take any action thereon or relative to.


ART. 57. To appropriate and raise, by borrowing or other wise, such sum or sums of money as may be necessary for all or any of the purposes mentioned in the foregoing articles.


Hereof, fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Selectmen, on or before said day and hour of meeting.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY.


By virtue of this Warrant I have notified and warned the in- habitants of the Town of Arlington, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs to meet at the time and place, and for the pur- poses herein named, by causing a printed attested copy of the same to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and also by posting an attested copy of said Warrant at the door of the Town Hall, in said Arlington, seven days at least before said day of meeting. Notice of the time, place and object of said meeting was published in the Arlington Advocate and the Arlington Weekly News.

In pursuance of the foregoing Warrant the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, met in the Town Hall in said Arlington, on Monday the sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and were called to order at six (6) o'clock in the morning by the Town Clerk, who read articles one (1) and two (2) of the Warrant calling the meeting, and the return thereon of the Con- stable who served the same upon the inhabitants.


It was unanimously voted to postpone the reading of the re- maining articles until the adjourned meeting.


Article 1 taken up. (Choice of Moderator.)


John G. Brackett was unanimously elected Moderator of the meeting and was sworn to the faithful performance of his duties by the Town Clerk.
