In September the school Physician gives all children through the ninth grade a physical examination. This is not a stripped to the waist examination. I hope in the near future a stripped to the waist examination will be possible and that the examina- tion will also include the high school pupils.
Result of examination given in September by Dr. John G. Corcoran, School Physician :

SCHOOL REPORT
IMMUNIZATION
Diphtheria is one of the dreaded diseases of today. There- fore we are urging all parents to have their children immunized against diphtheria. This preventive work was started by the school physician in 1928. The majority of the parents have responded very well; however, there are still a few who have taken this preventive work altogether too lightly, as the follow- ing report shows :
Number immunized in 1930
Total number enrolled 384
Total number immunized -now enrolled 310
Total number of children not immunized 74
Total number of parents refusing to have their children immunized 35
We have about 801/2% immunized but we want 100% by next year. In order to do this all parents must cooperate by giving consent for the immunization of their children.
GENERAL WORK OF NURSE
The general work includes corrective work, home visits, clerical work, general inspection. Corrective work includes promotion of dental care, tonsil and adenoid operations, correc- tion of eye defects, simple dressings, etc.
No. children having dental care through grade 8 74 No. children having tonsil and adenoid operation 20
No. first aid simple dressings 160
No. home calls made 205

CLERICAL WORK
This work consists of reports, work on physical health cards, notices to parents, hospital bookings, recording weights, prepar- ing for clinics, etc.
May I say in closing that I hope the parents, teachers and children will feel free to come to me in regard to anything that may be of benefit to the individual pupil or to our health pro- gram throughout the schools.
Respectfully submitted,
FLORENCE L. STOBBART, R. N. School Nurse.
