MANAGER'S REPORT

To the Municipal Light Board, Reading, Mass:

Gentlemen :- I respectfully submit herewith my report of the oper- ation of the Municipal Light Plant for the year ending December 31, 1922.

The Income and Expense Accounts, Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet have been changed to conform substantially to the Uniform System of Accounts for Municipal Lighting Plants as pre- scribed by the State Department of Public Utilities, effective January 1st, 1922. It is practically the same system which has been prescribed for privately owned Plants, with such modifications as were necessary to comply with Municipal Laws. All Municipal Lighting Plants in Massachusetts are now required to keep their books in accordance with the new system.
