In Middlesex County, seventeen miles west of Boston and seven miles west of Waltham, on the Fitchburg Division of the Boston and Maine R. R. Fare from Boston is 37 cents; twelve rides, $3.00; 100 rides, $24.00.

Post Offices are South Lincoln at Lincoln station, and Lin- coln at the centre of the town, one and one-half miles from the station.


Population, 1,111 in 1895; 1,127 in 1900; 1,112 in 1905. Registered voters, 271. Town valuation, May 1, 1905, $2,506,- 719. 1910, $3,473,934. Tax rate, $12.00 per $1,000.

Lincoln was incorporated as a precinct in 1746, as a town in 1754. Area 14.8 square miles. It is bounded by Concord and Bedford on the north, Lexington and Waltham on the east. Weston and Wayland on the south, and Concord on the west. Population (1913), 1,150. Town valuation (Feb. 1, 1913), $4,039,382.
