EQUITABLE BUILDING

LOCATION.

The location of the EQUI- TABLE and CALVERT BUILDINGS, facing on Cal- vert, Fayette and St. Paul streets and "plaza," is the best in the City, being op- posite the COURT HOUSE, making both especially con- venient for Lawyers, near the City POST- OFFICE and one square from the CITY HALL.

SAFETY AIR CUSHIONS.

All elevators, in addition to being provided with every known SAFETY AP- PLIANCE, are equippedwith IMPROVED AIR CUSHIONS. Only large Office Build- ings in the City with Air Cushion Equip- ment.

WATER CURTAINS.

WATER CURTAINS and STANDPIPES connected with the Company's SPECIAL FIRE PUMPS afford full protection against fire.

WATER.

The entire water supply of both buildings 18 FILTERED.

HEATING.

The heating system of the buildings is of the VACUUM type, which allows for reg- ulation of the temperature of the offices and halls.

WATCHMEN.

Watchmen patrol each building during the entire night, and the faithful perform- ance of their trust is recorded by watch- man's electric time detector, connected with signal locks in every other room of each building and all halls.

CLEANING.

The cleaning of both buildings is done at night by the VACUUM SYSTEM- ICHIOV- ing all dust direct from the offices.

BUILDINGS.

The EQUITABLE is nine stories high. exclusive of basement, and connects with the CALVERT by means of a covered bridge on the seventh floor.

The CALVERT is twelve stories high. exclusive of basement. Both buildings of absolute fireproof construction.

CALVERT BUILDING

ELEVATORS.

Of Improved hydraulic type, run DAY and NIGHT every day in the year. Electric light signal device. Equipped with electric fans in Summer. Each building has a freight elevator, thus preventing annoyance to tenants resulting from carrying pack- ages and boxes on same cars used by passengers. The elevators in each building are in charge of a DISPATCHER, whose duty is to regulate the starting of each car and take general supervision of this department alone.
