THE MERCHANTS AND MANU- FACTURERS' ASSOCIATION
One of the main functions of the Merchants and Manufacturers' As- sociation, which is the Power House of Progress in Baltimore, with 2,800 members, is to protect and promote the welfare of the factories AL- READY in BALTIMORE. While the Association is active in the mis- sion work of bringing new concerns here, it realizes that the main essen- tial to prosperity of any city is to help upbuild and expand the indus- tries it already has.
Their success is of equal, if no su- perior, importance to the introduc- tion of new enterprises. Their suc- cess, in truth, is the best advertise- ment with which to attract new in- dustries.
For that reason the Merchants and Manufacturers' Association specializes in making itself useful to local factories. Its Civic and In- dustrial Bureau makes itself active in miscellaneous directions, helping the various manufacturers in their big and little problems. In tax mat- ters, municipal matters, public serv- ice matters, labor matters, trans- portation matters and hundreds of other matters, the Association is at the beck and call of its members.
