Act 35 of 1901 amends the original act (act 147, 1891), providing for the election of county commissioner of schools and makes the term of office four years, commencing July 1, 1903. The compensation of the commissioner is fixed by the board of super- visors and limited to $1,800.


(a) By act 169 of 1905, the term of office of the present commissioner of Chippewa county was extended to January 1. 1909, and provides for the election of a commissioner at the November election, 1908, and every fourth year thereafter, whose term shall commence on January 1, following such election.


(b) In Kent county, commissioners are chosen at the November election, see L. A. 597, 1905.


(c) Local act 592, 1905, provides for the election of a commissioner in Livingston county in November, 1906, and every two years thereafter, term of office to commence July 1, following election.


(d) By act 115 of 1907, the term of office of the present commissioner of Lake county was extended to January 1, 1911, and provides for the election of a commissioner at the November election, 1910, and every fourth year thereafter, whose term shall commence on January 1, following such election.
