Of the younger men of Benton Harbor, there are many who well deserve mention in connection with the manufacturing and busi- ness interests of the town. Unfortunately there is not space enough within the limits of this sketch to treat of them fully; a couple of samples will have to answer. Mr. H. S. Morton, son of the Hon. H. C. Morton, is the popular clerk of the steamer Mes- senger, and about as well and favorably known, both at home and in Chicago, as a young and rising business man could desire. Mr. Thomas A. Walker, connected with the same line, and in their office at Benton Harbor, is everybody's friend in the town. He has lived here fifteen years, and has been with Graham, Morton & Co. about four years. His abilities and genial manner have made him hosts of valuable friends, and his rise to business prominence may be certainly predicted.
