School Report.

To the citizens of the town of Hebron :-

The School Board respectfully submit their report for balance of the school year ending Aug. 1, 1895.

The number of schools supported is the same as former- ly, viz., one at East Hebron and one at the village. One pupil from Plymouth attended the East Hebron school. The spring term of this school was a successful term of ten weeks, taught by Miss Viola L. Ford of Bristol. Miss Ford has a pleasing way of imparting knowledge to her pupils and is a thorough teacher. The order was good and the school was a success in every way.

Roll of Honor. Maud Merrill, Bertie Sanborn, May Sanborn, Edna Sanborn, Nina Sanborn, Walter Adams, John Adams, John Barnard, Walter Merrill, Edwin Mer- rill, Frank Russell, F. Earl Sanborn, Roy Smith.

Number of visitors, 17.

The spring term of the village school was taught by Miss Celia A. Jewell of this town. There was a marked interest in this school, by both teacher and pupils. Of the many terms of this school that have been taught by Miss Jewell, . we think this is one of the best.

Roll of Honor. Luella Follansbee, Alma Wheeler, Jes- sie Floyd, Arlena Bryar, Kate Sanborn, Addie Smith, Edna Smith, Donna Bailey, Amy Roby, Eugene Wheeler,

I7

Ernest Bryar, Merton Bryar, Herbert Morgan, Lawrence Keyes, Walker Monier, Vernes Dicey, Syd Huckins.

No of visitors, 74.

EMMA M. SMITH, ELLEN E. ROGERS,

SUPERINTENDENTS.

General Remarks.

Under the new school laws of the state our school year now begins Aug. Ist, instead of Mar. Ist, as formerly, consequently only one term of school in each division is reported.

Our schools have been of the best and would compare favorably with any in the state. Our teachers have shown an untiring interest in their work, and with such teachers only the best results can follow. And we do not forget that they have been aided in their work by scholars and parents.

At the beginning of the term the teachers told the pupils that all on the roll of honor at the close of the term would be treated to a roll of honor party. Accordingly, June 29th, the teacher procured teams and 29 scholars were made happy by a ride around the lake, stopping at Hill- side Farm for dinner, and a general good time. It was a day long to be remembered by the scholars of Hebron.

A spirit of harmony and good will has existed between teacher and scholars. With a few exceptions each has tried to do his or her best, and we feel to thank them one

18

and all for the interest they have manifested and hope this kindly interest will continue through the years to come.

Respectfully submitted.

EMMA M. SMITH, ELLEN E. ROGERS, CELIA A. JEWELL, SCHOOL BOARD.
