HUNTERDON COUNTY CEMETERIES
ALLERTON M. E. CHURCH CEMETERY Copied July 19, 1917, by Hiram E. Deats.
Allerton (Allertown, Allerville) is in Clinton Township two miles south of Annandale. It can hardly be called a village, but to use a modern phrase, a "community center." Snell's History states (page 538) that Henry Aller gave land for a church site in 1822 and the first building was erected that year. The present edifice was built in 1875. The cemetery is on the east side of the church. About fifty unmarked graves are visible. Aller, Anna F., dr. W. W. and Lydia, Feb. - , 1855, 1-11-0.

SANDY RIDGE CEMETERY
Copied August 2nd, 1917, by Egbert T. Bush and Hiram E. Deats.
This cemetery adjoins the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, which was con- stituted October 24, 1818, although the first building was completed some months before, and religious services maintained for some years previously, at least as early as 1812. The first interment was that of Rebecca Doyle, who died April 24, 1819. It is two miles northeast of Stockton, in Delaware Township, which was set off from Amwell Township in 1838.
