(7) About one and one half miles to the north of Freehold is " Wyckoff Hill." This is a little eminence about 180 feet above mean sea level, fall- ing abruptly toward the north, and sloping gradually toward the south. On this bluff-like hill is a burying-ground of about a quarter of an acre in extent, and shaded with a few forest trees. About 1702 John Wikoff pur- chased near Freehold Icoo acres of land, within which tract is this grave- plot. The records on its headstones were copied out by F. R. Symmes as follows :

"WHITE HILL MEETING HOUSE DEED OF SALE OR A DEED FOR WHITE HILL &c NEAR ROCKY BRIDGE AND WM. KER'S HOUSE THE ROAD BETWEEN THEM." DATED MAY 1, 1731.
[This deed from Wm Ker is for the first acre of ground in Old Tennent cemetery and on which the old church now stands ]
THIS INDENTURE Made this first Day of May in the fourth Year of our Soveraign Lord George the Second Over Great Britain France & Ireland King &c. Annoge Domini One Thousand Seven hundred & Thirty One, Between William Ker of Freehold in the County of Monmouth & Eastern Division of the Province of New Jersey Yeoman of the one Part, And Aaron Mattison, David Rhe, John Hen- derson & Samuel Ker all of the Same place Yeoman of the Other part Witnesseth That the Sd. William Ker for & in Consideration of the Sum of One Shilling Cur- rent Money of the province afore Sd. to him in hand paid before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presents by the Sd. Aaron Mattison, David Rhe. John Henderson & Samuel Ker the Receipt whereof he the Sd. William Ker doth hereby Acknow- ledge and himself to be therewith fully & Entirely Sattisfied Contented & paid & thereof & of & from every part & parcel thereof doth fully Clearly & Absolutely Acquit Exonerate & Discharge them the Sd. Beginning at a White Oak Tree Standing to the North East of the Meeting House & Marked on four Sides Running South Twenty five Degrees West five Chains thence North Sixty five Degrees West two Chains thenee North Twenty five Degrees East Five Chains Thenee South Sixty five Degrees East two Chains to the place where it began Containing One Acre being part of a Traet of Land purchased from Waltar Ker by Sd. William Ker &c. Together with all and all Manner of Housing Buildings Structures Edifices Feneings feedings Trees Woods Springs pools Pits Easements Profits Comodities Liberties Emoloments Hereditaments and Appartenances what- soever to the Same Belonging or in any Manner of Ways thereunto Appertaining And Also all the Estate Right Title Interest possession property Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the Sd. William Ker either in Law or Equity of in or unto the Sd. Lot of Land & Granted & Bargained premises with the Appurtences with the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders of or belonging to the Same or any part & parcel thereof ( which Lot of Land is known or Termed by the Name of White Hill & a Presbeterian Meeting house thereon Called by the Name of White Hill Meeting house Bounded on all Sides by Land formerly Walter Kers but now William Kers To have and To hold the Sd. Lot of Land with all & Singular the hereby granted & Bargained premises with every of their Rights Members & Ap- purtenances unto them the Aaron Mattison David Rhe John Henderson & Samuel Ker their heirs & Assigns forever to the Only Sole & proper Use Benefite & Behoof of them the Sd. An. Mattison Dd. Rhe Jn. Henderson & SI. Ker their heirs & As- signs forever And he the Sd. William Ker for himself his heirs Exrs. & Admrs. Doth Covenant, promise, Grant & Agree to & with the Sd. Mattison David Rhe John Henderson & Samuel Ker their heirs & Assigns forever from all & all Manner of Former & other Gifts Grants Bargains Sales Leases Mortgages & of and from all other Titles, Troubles. Charges, Ieumbrances & Demands whatsoever had Made Commited done or Suffered to be Done by him the Sd. William Ker or any other person or Whatsoever So as to alter Change Charge Defeat Determine or make Void the Same And further he the Sd. William Ker doth Covenant Agree & Bind him- self his heirs Exrs. Admrs. & every of them firmly by these Presents To Warrant and forever Defend the Sd.
