METROPOLITAN AREA TELEPHONE SERVICE

Metropolitan telephone service is furnished in an area Acomprising New York City, Southern Westchester. and most of Nassau County. This area is divided into zones as shown on the map below and charges for calls are .based on the zoning.

Completed calls from Brooklyn to points within the area specified are billed for the initial period at the rate of 1 to 6 message units per call depending on the distance between zones. An additional charge applies on calls of more than 5 minutes as shown under overtime charges on the next

page. Your monthly local service charge includes an allow. ance of message-units for outgoing calls. Any message- units in excess of the number allowed appear as a single item on your bill and are charged on a downward sliding scale, starting at 5g each.

No charge is made on calls not completed because of, a "line busy," a "don't answer" condition or for any other reason. If you get a wrong number, dial the operator' and report the matter to her. If you get a "busy" or "don' answer," try the call again in a few minutes.
