A REAL WANT SUPPLIED.

" Nothing Sueseeis Like Success.

A GREAT NEED OF THE PEOPLE IS A. PLACE TO OBTAIN ART WORK OF REAL MERIT AT LOW PRICES.

WE+CLAIM+TO+SUPPLY*THIS*WANT.

HOW DO WE SUCCEED

Mainly by ignoring the tricky deceptions so often practiced in this business, and giving everybody good, honest, intelligent work, whether they are judges of good work or not.

WHAT WE CLAIM:

FIRST.

That we have more capital invested in the business than all other Portrait Houses in this and three adjoining counties.

SECOND.

That we have more experienced and talented Artists in our employ than all other portrait establishments in this and adjoining counties.

THIRD.

That our equipments are; on such a MAMMOTH SCALE as to exceed the combined outfits of all other portrait houses in this and adjoining counties.

FOURTH.

That with superior advantages and a careful subdivision of work.among experts in each department, we can and do produce work with the greatest economy and of the highest excellence.

FIFTH. THAT OUR PRICES ARE AS LOW as those charged for inferior work. SIXTH. That headquarters for fine photographs and artistic portraits in India Ink, Water Colors and Crayon is found at

TO THE PUBLIC.

After a thorough canvass of the county, and a careful compilation, this Directory is presented to the public by the publisher, who would here express thanks to all who have kindly responded to the inquirles, in gathering much of the information the work contains.

The need of a new County Directory was apparent to many of your business men, and the call for encouragement in the form of subscriptions and advertising, has been promptly and liberally responded to by many.

The Business Directory will be found to be a very complete representation of the business of the county. Should the uame of any citizen not appear, it has been unin - tentionally overlooked.

Those firms whose cards appear in this work, are honorable, enterprising and liberal dealers, and are heartily recommended to public patronage.

In due time, when practicable, a new edition will be issued and improved. Having toiled earnestly and faithfully, conscious of having done my duty, and hoping the work will be received favorably and its usefulness generally felt, this volume is respectfully placed before the public for their approval.
