Overview of Westchester County Records

Westchester County was created in 1683. It included what is now Bronx County until 1874.
The New York State Department of Health has copies of birth, marriage, and death records starting in 1880. Individual town or city clerks also have copies of birth, marriage, and death records.
The Westchester County Clerk has court records starting in 1683, land records starting in 1687, and divorce records.
The Westchester County Surrogate Court has probate records starting in 1895.
