EXTRACT FROM CHAPTER XIV. TITLE 7, OF THE RE- VISED STATUTES OF THIS STATE- Vol. 1. p. 856, 4th Ed.
1. The President of every county Medical So- ciety shall give notice in writing, to every phy- sician and surgeon, not already admitted into such society, within the county in which the so- ciety of which he is President is situated, requir- ing such physician or surgeon, within sixty days after the service of such notice, to apply for and receive a certificate of admission as a member of such society.
2. The service of every such notice shall be made personally on the physician or surgeon to whom it shall be directed ; and if such physician or surgeon shall not, within the time specified in the notice, or within such further time as may be allowed by the President, under the regulations of the society, apply for a certificate of member- ship in such society, his license shall be deemed forfeited, and he shall be subject thereafter to all the provisions and penalties of the laws of this state, in relation to unlicensed physicians, until upon a special application, he shall be admitted a member of the Medical Society in the county in which he shall reside.
