Completed calls are counted in terms of message units when made to places within the Message Unit Calling Aren (New York City, southern Westchester, Nassau County, Amityville, Cold Spring Harbor and Farmingdale). Charges for n.essage units in excess of the number allowed appear on this line.

Claims may be made by furnishing your Business Office with information (based on records of reasonable estimates) concerning auch cally.
The amount of the refund is 3% of the charge for
message units used on such calls. For example, if 10% of your message units are for calls outside New York City, and your message unit charge (shown on the second fine of your bill) is $10.00, you are not taable on 10% of $10.00, or on $1.00. The tax on $1.00 is Je to you would be entitled to a 34 refund.

"Beep' Tone Indicates Conversation Being Recorded
A short high-pitched "beep" tone heard- on the telephone line about every 15 sec- code means that the person with whom you are talking is recording your coover -!! sation by means of his recording machine connected to the
line.
This signal is provided by the telephone company for your protection. If you do not want a record made of what you are saying ask the person with whom you are talking to disconnect the recording machine. When he disconnects his recorder, the signal is no longer heard. Use of a recorder without this signal is unlawful.
