S'R :- As the Season of ye year advances in which a Quantity of Wood for Fuel will be wanted for the officers and Men of the first Battallion at this Place and the Guards at Oysterbay as well as at Setauket you'l be pleased to Make a Demand for a Sufficient Quantity at Both places to be brought in and Deliver'd for a Magazine. Magazine for that purpose of the Officers Civil & Millitary which will prevent ye Destruction of Fences far and Ne r Quarters the Method will be for the Inhabitants to appoint a well Quallify'd Person to Lay in the wood rather than leave it to the Millitary to take it Indiscriminately at their own Discretion- and as Long as Night Patrolls on Horse Back is Necessary alike Demand must be made for Horses Requisite that ye Burthen of the Service may not too often fall on Improper Subjects but as near as possible be Equally borne.
