1806355 INTRODUCTION

The Alumni Register was authorized as a triennial publication in 1906. This issue, consequently, is the third edition. Two marked changes are made in the contents of this edition. First, a part of the work comprises a list of former students, arranged alphabetically and geographically. Second, the teaching staff is omitted. It was thought advisable to make this edition distinctly an alumni and former student register and to this end all extraneous matter ex- cept the names of the administrative officers of the University has been omitted.

As in former editions, the graduates are arranged by colleges and classes. The colleges are arranged in alphabetical order and are referred to in the indices by the following abbreviations:

ag .- College of Agriculture,

a .- College of Arts, Philosophy and Science,

ed .- College of Education,

e .- College of Engineering,

1 .- College of Law,

p .- College of Pharmacy,

v .- College of Veterinary Medicine. grad .- Graduate School.

Unless otherwise indicated, the advanced degree was obtained in the same school as the first degree. Advanced degrees were granted by the Graduate School in 1912 for the first time. As in previous editions of the Register, the advanced degrees, granted prior to 1912, are listed after their respective colleges.

The list of former students does not contain the names of all such students of this University, but only those who returned the data cards that were mailed them for the purpose of verifying their addresses. The addresses of some alumni are not given because the Secretary of the Association was unable to obtain them, after exhausting every reasonable means at his command. Only by a hearty co-operation of the Alumni with the Secretary, can such a record be accurately compiled. To this end, the Secretary requests the Alumni and former students to keep him advised of changes in addresses, new degrees and other information used in the prepara- tion of this Register.
