HIRAM COLLEGE

FOREWORD

A N EFFORT has been made to list in this Directory the name of every student who has been enrolled in Hiram College and in the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute. In many cases it has been impossible to find cor- rect addresses. A distinct service can be rendered by report- ing to the college office information about these "lost" stu- dents. It will be appreciated, too, if any omissions or errors are reported.

Early in the preparation of the Directory it was found necessary to limit and to standardize the information given for each student. It is with keen regret that the many per- sonal comments received are omitted.

A feature of this Directory, which differs from any pub- lished heretofore by the college or by the Alumni Association, is that with each class of graduates there is added a supple- mentary list of "ex-students". These "ex-students" are those who at one time or another were enrolled in the class with which they are listed, but who did not graduate at Hiram. This classification has been made for students who were in college classes only and does not include students of the pre- paratory school or of special departments. The college rec- ords are not clear enough to permit further classification than has been given.

Students of all special departments and of the preparatory school as well as those whose correct classification is unknown are given in a separate list.

The index gives in alphabetical order the names of all students, teachers and trustees, and the number of the page on which the name will be found in its proper classification.

Sincere appreciation is expressed to the hundreds of Hiram students who have co-operated in the publication of this book by returning with their approval or correction the records sent to them during the past few months.
