THIRD .- All of its Policies are absolutely Non-Forfeitable, with a rule for estima- ting the amount of its paid-up policies printed with them.
FOURTH .- Its Dividends are declared Annually upon the contribution plan, and are non-forfeitable, so that they will be paid even though the next premium is not paid.
FIFTH .- No restriction upon Travel or Residence.
SIXTII .- Its Charter permits it to make investments in any section of the Union, "and it does invest in all its General Agencies, thereby rendering it a HOME COMPANY EVERYWHERE, and affording more ample security to policy holders as well as more advantageous rates of interest.
SEVENTH .- It receives the assistance and patronage of some of the best known, wealthiest, and most experienced business men and capitalists of Cleveland, to whom we are permitted specially to refer, and whose names we print herewith.

INTRODUCTORY.
IN preparing our Cleveland Directory for 1872-73, which we present for public ap- proval, we have met with such difficulty as would naturally arise from a simultaneous canvass of the same field by two different parties; a circumstance which has in some de- gree interfered with the correctness of our work ; and though we do not mention it as an apology for errors that may occur, it may excuse imperfections that were unavoid- able under the circumstances.
The entire work has been done under the supervision of Mr. RICHARD ED- WARDS, of Chicago, and his experienced assistants, who have spared no pains to make it entirely worthy of the approval which we are confident it will receive.
It is a subject of mutual congratulation to the public and ourselves, that there is but little prospect of future directory wars in Cleveland, as the experience of the present season has been most disastrous to the foreign foe, who will hardly have the hardihood to make another attack.
Thanking our citizens for their encouragement and liberal support, and trusting that our publications may continue to improve, we present our present work for their consideration.
