ADDRESS.
Do you believe the Scriptures to be the inspired word of God, and the only infallible rule of Faith and Practice ?
Do you believe that the only way of salvation for the sinner is in, and through the sacrifice and blood of the Divine Redeemer and Mediator?
Do you believe in the personality and divinity of the Holy Ghost, and that by his gracious offices in persuading and enabling you to receive and rest upon the Lord Jesus Christ as your only righteousness, you are pardoned and accepted before God?
Sensible of your guilt, depravity, helplessness and misery in your natural state, do you trust that you have been graciously en- abled to lay hold of Christ as the only refuge of hope set before you, and to enter the ways of piety, as the ways of pleasantness, and the paths of peace ?
Do you receive and embrace the system of doctrine and disci- pline of the Presbyterian Church, so far as conformable to the Word of God, and promise earnestly to seek its peace, purity and edification, and to walk with its members in love, meekness, and faithfulness?
Now beloved in the Lord, we affectionately announce that you are members in the full communion of this Church,-in the name of Christ, we declare you entitled to all its privileges.
Remember, that you have entered into relations you can never renounce, and are under obligations from which you can never es- cape. Wherever you are these vows will remain upon you. They will accompany you to the Bar of God, and will abide ou you to Eternity. You can never again be, as you have been. You have unalterably pledged yourselves, and henceforth you must be, the servants of God. Hereafter, the eyes of the world will be upon you. Walk worthy of your profession, and show to the world the true character of Christ's friends. Let your light shine and your path become brighter and brighter. Look to the Lord for strength -persevere unto death, and you shall receive a Crown of Life .- Amen.
