IFLOW PRICES RULE. A

STREET DIRECTORY.

The STREET DIRECTORY is simply an ALPHABETICAL arrangement of Streets. Alleys, etc., with a onfficient portion of corner numbers attached to such as are of any considerable importance. for the purpose of aiding those who refer to it, in becoming familiar with the system of numbering. It will be found by citizens as well as strangers to be a practical guide to the different parts of the City.

EXPLANATION .- On streets commencing at and running directly from the Ohio River, or others running in the same direction. the ODD numbers are on the West, and the EVEN on the East side of the street, com- mencing at the River or such other point as the street may commence. Onstreets crossing Main. the ODD numbers are on the South, and the EVEN on the North side of the street, commencing at and running East and West from Main, thus dividing each into two distinct streets, distinguished by prefixing East or West to the name. . All others running in a similar direction are numbered in the same manner. commencing at the point nearest to Main and running East or West, according to the direction of the same.

In designating the CORNER numbers we have used ODD numbers entirely, except where streets commence at or end upon the side where the EVEN numbers belong.

The Platting Commission have suggested that the streets marked with a " should be vacated.
