The Naval Reserve organization in the Providence metropolitan area is comprised of Organized Surface Battal- ion 1-8, Organized Submarine Division 1-41, and Organized Construction Bat- talion Company 1-6. Organized Surface Battalion 1-8 is comprised of four or- ganized Surface Divisions. When at full strength, they will have a total membership of approximately 140 of- ficers and 1200 enlisted men


The U. S. S. KINGFISH is assigned to the Providence Training Center as a training submarine for Submarine Division 1-41


LCDR Wallace E Babbitt is Inspec- tor-Instructor and Officer-in-Charge of Naval Reserve Facilities. LCDR Ken- neth P huff is Officer-in-Charge of the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Train- ing Center with LT Henry MacMurtray, CMC, as Assistant for CIC Training. LT David E Goudy is Officer-in-Charge off the U. S. S. KINGFISH


The Training Center is the largest and best equipped of all Naval Reserve Training Centers in the First Naval District. It is equipped to train all rat- ing groups in the navy
