PREFACE

We herewith present our third volume of the Anderson Directory, and it is with considerable pleasure that we are able to state that during the period since the publication of last Directory (May, 1907) Anderson has made marked strides in every particular-in fact, is thoroughly abreast the times and improving with every day.

In preparing the last Directory the Census of the territory as covered by us was 14.006, and within the confines of same area there is to-day a population (as indicated by the number of names taken on canvass) of 15,557, an increase of over 10 per cent.

The City has advanced well along all lines and continues its remarkable strides in building, a house being completed on an average for every working day, and the class of buildings have improved materially, which adds greatly to the appearance of the City.

As usual with us we use in the preparation of this work the services of trained directory enumerators, and the information is dependable.

In conclusion we extend our thanks for many courtesies received by our representatives in the gathering of statistics necessary, and to our patrons for their support, promising on our part to render the best service possible with each issue.

Respectfully, ,

THE WALSH DIRECTORY CO.,

W. H. WALSH, PREST.
