Know all men by these prsents That Wee Edward Patey Cooper John Boone Esq" and Johna Lynch gent Doe acknowledge ourselves to owe and bee Justly indebted unto the honoble the Governor in the ffull and Just sume of one hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee paid to the said Governor or to his suc- cesso' or to his or their certaine Attorney or Assignes To the which paymt well and truely to bee made wee doe bind us and every of us our and every of our heires Exec's Adm's and Assignes Joyntly and severally in the whole and for the whole firmly by these p'sents sealed with our hands & seales Dated this Twenty sixth day of September 1684 Annoq R R 36°/


The Condicon of this obligacon is such That Whereas Edward Patey by his Peticon beareing Date the Twenty Third day of Septembr To the honoble the Governor and Councell for a Speciall Warrant for the Lands of Daniell Lacey late of this Province deced and now in the possession of William Cooke of this Province Planter upon Condicon that hee the said Edward Patey doe deliver or cause to bee delivered to the value of Twenty pound in Cattle to the Guardian of the Children of the said Lacey and that hee take and provide for one of the Children of the said Lacey as an Apprentice after the manner of a Cooper and alsoe to cause to bee surveyed laid out and assured unto the Children of the said Lacey or to the sur- vivor of them the same quantity of Land ffor which hee hath a spe- ciall Warrant Now if the said Edward Patey Doe well and truely forme fulfill and keepe all and every the above menconed Con- dicons as in the above recited Peticon and order thereupon reffer- rene being thereto had May more ffully and att large appeare That then this obligacon to bee voyd and of none effect or else to remaine in full fforce effect and virtue/
