Guideboards are maintained in town at or near the following places : Wood's corner, S. L. Buttles' place (2), Sullivan's corner, H. L. Baker's, Bernor's store (2), Silver Lake road (2), Severy's corner, Newton's gate (2), John Bride place, Wm. McConnell's, Bresee's Mills, R. H. John- son's, Arnold district school-house (2), Birch Hill road, Frank Sanderson's (2), R. H. Newcomb's, corner High and Park streets, and Smith's store (2).
On Jan. 27th we visited the town farm and inventoried the town property there, and have filed a copy of said inventory in the town clerk's office, where it is open to inspection. In general, the conditions were excellent at the farm, and we think the present superintendent and his wife entitled to a good deal of credit for their management the past year, as evidenced by the good conditions and the general contentment of the inmates.
The town is in excellent condition financially, and unless there is a change of conditions which we cannot at this time foresee, we believe that a tax of 95 cents on the dollar of grand list (same as last year) will be sufficient for the coming year.
F. L. SMITH, F. E. KINGSLEY, { Selectmen . W. B. AVERY,
We have examined the foregoing account, and find the same to be correct, with proper vouchers for each order drawn.

I have made a practice, during the four previous years as Overseer, to pay out, not to exceed one hundred dollars, for improvements at the town farm, in the line of farming tools, such as an express wagon, sleigh, separator, mowing machine, and such other tools as was needed at the farm.
In changing management at the town farm last March, it was found necessary to paper, paint and clean up the inside of the house generally, which was done at an expense of something over one hundred dollars, giving us a house, under the present management, for cleanliness and respect- ability second to none, and perfectly sanitary in every respect.
For reasons which you are all familiar with, there has been no speculating in stock or anything else at the town farm the past year, other than to make some necessary changes with the cows to keep the herd good, so that the income from the farm the past year has been what it would produce.
L. F. NICHOLS, Overseer.

HEALTH OFFICER'S REPORT.
To the Citizens of Brandon :
Legally, my responsibilities as health officer for the town of Brandon have passed from my shoulders to those of Dr. John W. Estabrook. For twenty-eight years I have tried to administer the details of that office and meet you face to face on the sanitary lines, for the good of the public. We began as friends, and we part as such, but the sanitary line must stand. You, year by year, have a responsibility coming upon you, and you must face it. It so happens that conta- gious germs we have, and always will have, unless we fight them with the aid of the local health officer, until they are annihilated.
Therefore, I enjoin upon you all to fight with him, not against him, in this great work, and may you be as faithful to him as you have been loyal to me, and you will be as successful in the next quarter of a century as in the past in diminishing this great enemy of humanity. Thanking you for your co-operation these many years, I am
Very truly,
C. W. PECK, M. D.
