Amount Expended $911.08 Summary of Unselected Highway Work Done by C. H. Dustin

This piece of road is in West Rochester. I worked a dis- tance of 230 rods.

It was narrow, wet and stony. I blasted the rocks, cut the brush and cut the banks back thereby widening it and making a good ditch for the water.

I put in the following corrugated iron culverts :

two 22x12 five 20x12 one 22×24

I surfaced it with bank gravel from the sides of the road, making it a finished road of about 18 ft. wide.

C. H. Dustin, Special Commissioner

Total Resurfacing $1,044 51

Summary of State and Resurfacing Work Done by C. H. Dustin

I started this job at Grub Street Corner and worked toward Bethel on the mountain road, a distance of a little over a mile.

I blasted the ledges to get it wide enough for a ditch and used the gravel from the banks for surfacing the road. I put in a cement retaining wall 60 ft. long and 7 ft. high.

I also put in the following culverts :

one 20x26

two 12x22

one splice 12×6 one splice 14×4

Report of the Directors of the Rochester Town School District

We had intended last summer to put a modern jacketed heater in the Branch school house but it was found necessary to open a school in district No. 16 and on account of this added ex- pense we decided to leave this till next year. This school house has been remodelled somewhat by tearing out the old seats and desks and putting in some taken from West Hill, putting on a fresh coat of paint inside, fixing the windows and underpinning and building a new outhouse to comply with the law.

We now need jacketed heaters in this school house and the one at the Branch. The Corner school house needs painting in- side and shingling, and Maple Hill school house needs shingling to save the building.

We have procured three sets of reference books costing $122.50 which are to be paid for next June

Bespectfully submitted, G E Burditt S H Kent School Directors Mrs. E S Boutwell
