This makes a grand total of $98.31, out of which I have paid for hotel bills, transportation, express and pos- tage the sum of $22.46 which leaves a balance of $75.85 for services rendered during the year.

All heads of families and school teachers should co- operate with the health board and comply with the law

governing the reporting of contagious diseases of all kinds.

I find that the school houses are for the most part in fairly good sanitary condition. The attention of the school board has been called to one or two of them.

Yours very truly, H. E. SARGENT, Health Officer.

FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT.

To the citizens of the town of Brighton :

We have had two general alarms of fire the past year : Sept. 21, North Stratford called for help. Hand engine and Co., went down. Fire was under control when they arrived.

Dec. 5. Alarm at 8.30 A. M. James Worth's house, used chemical. Cause, fire caught around stove pipe. Slight damage.

The equipment is in good condition, except a few lengths of hose that is worn so it leaks some. I think perhaps we shall want a little new this year.

Respectfully submitted,

H. E. RANDALL, Fire Chief.
