December 4, 1852.
Died on Thursday evening, the 25th ult., Stephen Douglas, infant son of Colonel M. T. Simmons, of Puget Sound.

At the crossing of Horse Shoe Creek near Fort Larimie, on 18th day of June 1852, Samuel R. Patterson, of inflamation of the stomach, age 26 years. Mr. Patterson was a native of rentucky, but since 1849 was a resident of Lafayette Co., No. He was on his way to California.

Married an Olympia, W. T., Wednesday A.M., October 1, by Rev. Whitworth, Butler P. Anderson, Esq. and Miss Ione Head, all of Olympia. The happy couple immediate- ly took their departure in the Pioneer Democratic, home manufactured carriage of our friend A. J. Baldwin, for the scene of their future residence in the sunny state of Texas.

Obituary -- Died of yello fever on board U. S. Sloop of War Falmouth, near Key West about August G, midshipman, Cain. The body was interred in the hospital cemetery where it will remain until the first frost when it will be exhumed and reinterred in the burial place of his family. Deceased was a son of Cant. Jno. Cain, Indian Agent for this territory and was a young man of more than ordinary ability and promise.
Died at Olympia on the 27th inst. of congestion of the brain, Capt. Joseph Caines of Port Tomsend, aged about 50.

Died suddenly at Olympia, June 27, James Doty, Esq., son of Hon. James Duane Doty, late Governor of Wiscon- sin, a e 28 years. He crossed the plains in 1853 with Governor _t-vens, lived one year at Fort enton, charged with the care of the Indians, and came to Olympia in 1854.

Died in this place 21 ; int. of consumption, at the residence of his father, Alfred Alien, aged 32 years 11 months, formerly of Columbiana Co., Ohio. In 1853 he served in the Rogers hiver far to avente the lose of his brother murdered by the indians. Ln: 1855 he again volunteered and was attacked in the Puget Sound Rangere.
Drowned on Monday, 26 inst., Francis Acial Morrison, age . 2 years and i month, only child of Abial and Charlotte Morrison.
