MARINE HOSPITAL (U. S.)-An institution for merchant seaman only. Is a very complete hospital establishment; situated at Mountain Lake, on the Presidio Reservation, four miles northwest from City Hall ; reached by way of First avenue. The hospital maintains an ambulance communication daily from the city office of the Surgeon in charge, Dr. C. N. Ellinwood, 715 Clay street, corner of Kearny. Patients have first to obtain the certificate of the Collector of Customs that they are merchant seamen, at the time of application, before they can be admitted.
