Lincoln Grammar School Association- This organization is composed of "Old Boys" of the Original Old Lincoln School, which former- ly stood on 5th near Market, and was opened in
1865. The association is formed for the purpose of keeping alive the memories of the early days. The only requisite for membership is that the applicant shall have attended that school, whether as a graduate or not, at least thirty- nine years before applying for membership. The period regulating membership is advanced one year at each annual banquet, which is held on Lincoln's Birthday, Feb. 12. The association has undertaken the work of erecting a memorial of Lincoln in the Civic Center, which will also perpetuate the fact that the first statue to Lincoln ever erected was that which stood before the Old Lincoln Grammar School and was unveiled in 1886.
