Houses are numbered from west to east and from south to north. On the streets running from west to east there are 48 numbers to each block, or one number to every eight and one-third feet. Commencing on the
northeast corner of Atlantic and D streets the first num- ber on D street is 200. The last number in that block would be 248, even numbers on the north side of the street and odd numbers on the south side.
