PREFACE.
In issuing the REGISTER for 1869, the publishers desire to present their thanks to all those persons who have aided in cor- recting the information given in the work. The Register for 1869, contains the information usually given, the form and style being the same as heretofore. In the compilation of this work, it is our endeavor to have every part revised by society clerks and those who have the best opportunities for obtaining the information desired. It is impossible, in a work of this character, to be exact in all names and facts, but it is hoped that many of the old errors have been avoided in this issue.
In the list of Attornies, no names have been inserted but those who are duly authorized by the Courts to practice in the State; and in the Clergy lists, all who are not regularly or- dained Ministers, have been excluded from the lists.
₣ Those who furnish matter for the Register, or desire any changes to be made, are reminded that the work goes to press about the 1st of November. Hence the reason why some in- formation has not been attended to.
Commissioners for other States should give information of any additions or changes directly to us.
Clerks of the various societies mentioned in this work, will confer a favor, by sending a copy of their annual Reports, when issued, to the Publishers.
