Att a lawfull Town meeting in Derby 18 April 1704 Serjiant Sam1 Brinsmead Ebenezer hardyear & John Riggs were chosen Sheep masters & that they have power to hire a Sheepherd & dispose oft ye sheep to ye Towns best advantage
Att ye same time voted & agreed that ye Towns men hire two hands to worke one day in ye parsonage meadows for ye clearing thereof
Att ye same time voted & agreed by ye Town of Derby that an exchange be made oft two parcells oft ye parsonage land adjacent to Abel Guns land upon Centinel hill for 6 acres oft Abel Guns pasture upon horse hill & that Captaine Johnson Ensigne Riggs & Wm Tomlinson Senior act on ye Towns be- halfe in making choice oft & assigning where ye 6 acres oft ye fore mention'd pasture granted by Abel Gun Shall be took & that ye 6 acres be measur'd & layd out & deeds be interchange- ably given & took on Abel Guns side & also ye Towns for ye ensurance & ratifying ye exchange

att the above sd meeting the town have chosen John Riggs & Sam Bowers to draw a bond wt Doctor Durand in the be- half of ye town and to stand in the behalf of the town to & wt ye arbirators on the 29th day of March 1705 we under writen did goo to the long lott and set up bounds where the high way should go into the long lott and where it should go out and bounds set up threw the lott where the high way should go on the west side of the high way
