BUSINESS UNIVERSITY.

ATLANTA, GA.

A Standard Institution.

THE BUSINESS WORLD IN MINIATURE. Actual Business ! Students on 'Change !

The Best Mode of Instruction ever adopted for the PRACTICAL EDUCATION of Yonng Men, Boys, and Men of Middle Age.

SYSTEM OF TEACHING.

The School is a completely organized community, with its necessary ad- Juncts, Banking Houses, Insurance, Transportation and other Agencies, in which each student acts his part as clerk, book-keeper, merchant, banker, etc.

Merchants rent their places of business, procure license, deposit their money in bank, buy, sell. collect, give and take notes of hand, raise money by having notes discounted, make and receive consignments, and keep their own accounts, recording each transaction as it takes place.

Surplus funds are disposed of in the usual way, by investment in stocks.

The community is governed by strict laws, in close conformity with those of the business world outside.

The Merchant, as intimated, cannot engage in business until he has obtained license from the government; must use his stamps, state his terms of sale, col- lect and pay in accordance with law or usage, protect his maturing paper ; or submit to the usual penalties, perhaps to the loss of credit and standing in the community. Funds of defaulters, absent or deceased members, in the hands of others, cannot be reached except by legal process.

Absent members may award powers of attorney for the settlement of their affairs, while the estates of deceased members are placed in the hands of administrators.

BRANCHES TAUGHT.

Single and Double Entr" Book-Keeping, Plain and Ornamental Penman- ship, Commercial Arithmetic, Merchandising, Political Economy, Actual Bus- iness, Business Correspondence, Mercantile Law, Insurance, Banking, etc.

PRACTICAL BOOK-KEEPING. With the students as an organized business community, transacting business, and recording cach transaction as it occurs. Here are in operation Wholesale and Retail Houses, Transportation, Insurance and Banking Houses. The Student, as a merchan t or clerk, makes out his bills, issues his notes and checks, procures his polici s of insurance, and deposits his money precisely as the same things are done in the outside world; all the vari- ous printed forms of bills, notes, dray tickets, bills of lading, checks, stamps, etc., being supplied in his outfit.

The following classes of business are represented ; Buying and Selling on Commission, Flour Business, Produce, Provisions, Dry Goods, Grocery Houses, Etc. Merchants conduct business singly, in partnership and as joint stock companies.

TIME OF ENTERING .- There are no terms of divisions. Students can enter any week day during the year with equal advantages. There are no ex- aminations at time of commencing.

PREPARATORY QUALIFICATIONS -A knowledge of the ordinary English branches constitutes a sufficient preparation for entering the College, and any special deficiencies in these, if not too deep rooted, can be remedied in our course.

TIME REQUIRED .- The time necessary to complete the course is from twelve to sixteen weeks, varying according to the ability and application of the student. $110.00 to $115.00 will cover Tuition, Stationery, Board, etc., for three months.
