Washington Life Insurance Co.

-OF-

NEW YORK.

Writes Installment Endowment Policies, guaranteeing to the insured the payment

of $500 to $15,000 in cash at the end of ten years, and similar sums each. subsequent . period of ten years. These Policies, which are for terms of twenty and thirty years furnish insurance for $1,coo to $30,000 and carry Annual Non-forfeitable Cash _Divi- dends ..

"For example : A thirty-year Installment Endowment for $5,000, at age thirty-five, requires an-annual premium of $317.65. For ten years the holder is insured for $5,000. He then receives from the Company $2,500 and has had ten dividends. -- He pays the same premium for ten years more, and receives $2,500 cash and ten dividends:5

The interest on the first installment of $2,500 received from the Company, will pay about one half of the premium during the second period of ten years.

At the end of the second period of ten years the insured has received. $5,000 from the Company, the interest op which will pay all the premiums during the third ten -: year period. He then receives an additional $2,500 a total of $7,500-and for .. thirty years has been insured for $5,000, augmented by -- accumulations from dividends. - Should be die within the second ten year period, the Company would have paid him a.cash endowment,

. And the amount of the Policy,

Augumented by dividend accumulations,

$2,500.00

5,000.00

Total, 57,300, and dividends to be added.

Should he die within the third period of ten years, the Company would have paid him a cash endowment,

And the amount of the Policy to his heirs or estate, Augumented by dividends,-

$5,000,00 5,000,00

- Total, $10,000, and dividends.added.

An Installment Endowment may be surrendered while in force (after. three years) for as many tenth-parts of the amount of the Policy as there have been full year's premium paid, e. g .: A Policy of $10,000 after five years from the beginning of any ten-year period may, be surrendered for a paid-up Policy for $5,000, which would- entitle the holder to $2,500 at the end of the ten-year period if living, or $5,000 in the event of his dying before the completed period.

Careful men are deterred from taking Policies with dividends deferred from ten to fifteen and twenty years, by prudential motives. The danger or possibility of not being able, from misfortune or accident, to carry out, for ten to twenty years, the severe conditions of a tontine-policy, and the absence from the policy itself of any binding obligation on the part of the company to fulfill the promises of its agents. are sufficient reasons-for-refusing such a contract.

The installment Endowment has ample provision for its protection, which recom- mends it to the public as a safe and honest contract for the insurant, as also a profit -- able one for him who seeks both life insurance and endowment.
