DIRECTIONS FOR GIVING AN ALARM OF FIRE.


Keyholders will be particular to ob- serve the following rules:


1. To give an alarm, go to the near- est box, open the door, pull the hook to the bottom of the slot once and let go; then close the door.


2. Do not pull the hook if the fire bells or small bell in the box is strik- ing, as that indicates that an alarm has already been given.


3. Be particular to remain at the box until the arrival of an officer of the fire department. who will release the key, or if circumstances will not per- mit remaining, then the proper officer will return the key to the holder as soon as convenient.


4. Keyholders, upon changing their locations, will please return key or leave word with chief of fire depart- ment, corner Second and Grand av.

Section 13. That the owner or driver of any omnibus, carriage, cab, herdic. or other vehicle licensed under this chapter, shall be entitled to demand and receive not to exceed twenty-five cents (25c) for each passenger convey-

For each passenger over one mile and under two miles, fifty cents (50c). For each passenger with ftrunk, fone mile and under two miles, leventy-five cents (75c) .; Each additional passenger of the same party, twenty-five cents (250). Provided that| sixteen blocks shall constitute' one mile. And they sijall be entitled to add to the above frate when; said service is rendered between the hours of 12 o'clock at i Might and 6 a. m., twenty-five cents for each passenger. And are entitled to charge when employed by the hour, one and 50-100 dollars ($1.50) for the first hour, and for each additional hour, one dollar ($1); and they are hereby re- quired to convey any passenger carriedl by them to such part of the city his he or she may require.


Children under five years of age ac- companying any person who has paid full fare shall not be charged fare, and children between the ages of five and ten years! shall be charged half fare. Any person violating any of the pro- visions of this ordinance shall be sub- ject to a fine of not less than five nor nffore than one hundred dollars.
