United States Court of the Southern District of Iowa-The United States is


divided into nine judicial circuits, in each of which a district court is held for each district within each circuit.


The state of Iowa is divided into two judicial districts. The courts for the southern district are held in district court rooms U. S. government building at Des Moines second Tuesday in May and third Tuesday in November. At Council Bluffs, | second Tuesday in March and third Tuesday in Septem- ber. At Keokuk second Tuesday in April and third Tuesday in October. At Creston fourth Tuesday in March and first Tuesday in November. At Davenport, fourth Tuesday in April and first Tuesday in October. At Ot- tumwa first Monday after fourth Tues- day in March and first Monday after third Tuesday in October. Both dis- tricts are attached to the Eighth ju- dicial circuit, which comprises the states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas Kansas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Utah, and New Mexico.


Justice Willis Van Devanter has been alloted to the Eighth judicial cir- cuit, and Hon. Walter H. Sanborn, Hon. Wm. C. Hook, Hon. Elmer B. Ad- ams, Hon. Walter I. Smith are circuit judges of said court. The courts for the southern districts are organized as follows:
