COURTS.
United States Court of the South- ern District of Iowa-The United States is divided into nine judicial circuits, in each of which a district court is held for each district within each circuit.
The state of Iowa is divided into two judicial districts. The courts for the southern district are held :in dis- trict court rooms U. S. government building at Des Moines second Tues-

day in May and third Tuesday in November. At Council Bluffs, second Tuesday in March and third Tuesday in September. At Keokuk second Tuesday in April and third Tuesday in October. At Creston fourth Tuest day in March and first Tuesday in November. At Davenport, fourth Tuesday in April and first Tuesday in October. At Ottumwa first Monday after fourth Tuesday in March and first Monday after third Tuesday in October. Both districts are attached to the Eighth judicial circuit, which comprises the states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas Kansas, Wyoming, Oklahoma Utah, and New Mexico.
Justice Willis Van Devanter has been allotted to the Eighth judicial circuit and Hon. Walter H. San- born, Hon! Wm. C. Hook, Hon. El mer B. Adams, Hon. Walter I. Smith are circuit judges of said court. The courts for the southern districts are organized as follows:
