WARD BOUNDARIES.


The following ordinance defining the Ward Boundaries, was passed and approved by the city council, May 11th, 1883.


SEc. 1. Be it ordained by the city council of the city of Champaign, that the said city be and is hereby divided into five wards, and bounded as follows :


Ske. 2. That the First ward of said city shall consist of and include so much and such part of the territory of said city lying west of the eastern boundary of said city. as follows : commene- ing at the junction of the eastern and southern limits of said city. thence west along said south line to a point on a line with the con- ter of Fifth street, thence north on said line to the center of U'ni. versity avenne, thence west along the center of University avenue to the center of Third street, thence north on the center of Third street and on a line, continuing thereon to the north line of said city, thence east on said north line to the eastern limits of said city, thence south on said east line to the place of beginning.


SEc. 3. That the Second ward of said city shall comprise and include so much and such part of the territory within the limits of said city as lies west of the First ward described in sec- tion two of this ordinance to the center of the main track of the Illinois Central railroad.


SEc. 4. The Third ward shall comprise and include so much and such part of the territory within the limits of said city as lies west of the center of the main track of the Illinois Central railroad to and including the east line of Randolph street and on a line continuing thereon to the city limits on the north, and to the city limits on the sonth.


Sc. 5. The Fourth ward shall comprise and include so much and such part of the territory within the limits of said city as lies west of the western line of said Third ward, as described in section four hereof, to the center of Lynn street, and on a line continuing thereon to the city limits on the north and to the city limits on the south.


SEC. 6. The Fifth ward shall comprise and inelnde so much and such part of the territory within the limits of said city as lies west of the westerly line of said Fourth ward, as described in the preceding section, to and including the western limits of said city.
