THE CHRYSOSTOMIAN DEBATING SOCIETY


Was organized on the 10th of November, 1875. Its object is to promote the cultivation of eloquence, the acquisition of sound knowledge and a taste for literary studies. The exercises at the weekly meetings consist chiefly in the reading of original essays and the discussion of subjects approved by the President. None but students of the more advanced classes are eligible to membership. The President is appointed by the Faculty; the other officers are elected by the members.

THE STUDENTS' LIBRARY ASSOCIATION


Was established to encourage useful reading. A collection of more than two thousand volumes in the various departments of English literature is daily accessible.


In connection with the Library is a commodious Reading-Room, which affords students ample opportunities to learn the current news and to form sound opinions on all important issues. The leading journals, magazines and reviews, secular as well as religious, to the number of thirty-five, are constantly at the disposition of the members. During the past year two hundred and thirty-four of the students availed themselves of its privileges.
